Home gym construction in Vancouver.
When a basement, garage or spare room needs more than equipment, one team runs the renovation: framing, floors, power, air, sound and finishes.
Who handles home gym construction in Vancouver?
Vantage Gyms handles home gym construction in Vancouver, taking a basement, garage or spare room from bare space to finished gym. One team coordinates the renovation, trades and equipment. You start with a free in-home consultation, then receive a fixed-price written quote before anything is ordered.
The work behind a finished gym.
A gym that feels effortless to use usually has a lot of building behind it. These are the parts of the room we plan and coordinate, scoped to what your space needs.
Renovation and framing
Rooms rarely arrive gym-ready. Where the layout calls for it, we frame new walls, rework ceilings and prepare surfaces for mirrors, panels and lighting, so the finished room looks designed rather than adapted.
Flooring for heavy equipment
Racks, plates and dumbbells put real load on a floor and make noise when dropped. We specify rubber or hardwood systems for each training zone and check what sits underneath before anything is laid.
Electrical for equipment, AV and recovery
Treadmills, lighting, smart AV and an infrared sauna all draw power. We plan circuits and outlets with the equipment you have chosen, rather than leaving the panel to surprise you later.
Ventilation and climate
Training puts heat and moisture into a room, and spaces below grade or in a garage feel it most. On Premier and Signature, ventilation and HVAC are specified in the plan to help keep the room comfortable through the year.
Acoustics and permits
Acoustic panels and flooring choices help contain the noise of training, which matters when a bedroom sits above. Permit requirements depend on scope and municipality, and on Premier and Signature we manage permits where required.

Frequently asked questions
Who does home gym construction in Vancouver?
Vantage Gyms designs and builds home gyms across Metro Vancouver, from renovation through to equipment. One team and one contact coordinate the work. The free in-home consultation includes a preliminary budget range, followed by a fixed-price written quote.
How much does home gym construction cost?
Scope sets the price: which tier you choose, which equipment you pick and how far the room is from gym-ready. Our Essential tier fits out an existing room, Premier adds a full renovation, and Signature adds custom design and recovery. You get a preliminary budget range at the free consultation.
Can you renovate a basement into a home gym?
Yes. Basements suit a gym well, and the renovation can include flooring, ventilation, moisture control, acoustics and lighting. We look at ceiling height and the slab during the consultation.
Can you convert a garage into a home gym?
Yes. Garages usually need insulation, ventilation, flooring and power planned for year-round use. We assess the space at the in-home consultation and scope the work from there.
Do I need a permit to build a home gym?
It depends on scope and municipality. Equipment in an existing room usually does not, while new circuits, structural or plumbing work can. Electrical permits may come from the municipality or Technical Safety BC depending on the location. On Premier and Signature we manage permits where required.
How long does a home gym build take, and how does payment work?
Most builds take 8 to 16 weeks from consultation to handover, depending on scope and equipment lead times. You sign a fixed-price contract, with a 30% deposit at signing, after receiving a written quote.
